The Art of Living Project

Hope Unlimited is a non-profit organization that works with at-risk youth to build relationships that strive to change lives in Kirkwood with a focus on the southeast area of the Kirkwood and Meacham Park neighborhoods. Hope Unlimited has been very successful in reaching the young men of these neighborhoods, but has been challenged in finding ways to reach the young women. As a way to address this vital issue, we are implementing a program with the combined efforts of Hope Unlimited, Girls Scouts of Eastern Missouri, E3- STL and members of the Kirkwood Community to launch The Art of Living Project. The Art of LIving Project

The Art of Living Project is a six week workshop that will provide educational, spiritual and hands on activities that will reach both high school and middle school-aged girls and their caregivers.

The girl and guardian program will run simultaneously in the Meacham Park neighborhood. The workshops aim to do the following:

  • Educate on relationship building in the areas of friendship, family, dating and self esteem in order to provide a new outlook while creating a sense of hope for the future
  • Introduce the women to local community leaders to serve as inspiration and mentors
  • Bring together community partners to support an environment of healing and understanding
  • Create enthusiasm, fellowship and ownership for their time spent with the The Art of Living Project
