At Greentree, we think of ourselves as a “spiritual family.” Members of a family share common beliefs, purpose and a commitment to one another. It’s also a place where it is safe to be yourself, and a place where you are known, needed, loved and cared for. That is exactly our desire for those who become members of our spiritual family. Becoming an official member of our congregation, rather than simply a part of the audience, brings a sense of ownership and belonging. Greentree becomes not “the church,” but “my church.” Membership includes other rewards and also responsibilities on your part.

Attending the Membership Class is a great way to learn about Greentree AND to get to know other people new to Greentree. There is no obligation to join just because you attend the class.

Everyone wants one … everyone wants to leave one behind. What is it?  A legacy. However, not all legacies are about financial security … in fact, the legacy that will most impact your children and grandchildren may be visual.  Photos are powerful transmitters of our life story, our culture, and our faith. They capture our moments and milestones; they anchor us to our past; they remind of who we are and what we believe.  Our photos and stories are only as valuable as the way we choose to preserve and share them.  Does your family’s story exist only in the cloud?

Join us as we learn how you can transform some of your photos into a tangible link to your story, your history, your faith. We’ll serve coffee and goodies and display examples of simple ways to create albums that will preserve your stories for generations to come.  Regular workshops will follow for those who are interested.

If you know you are coming, please let us know by contacting Diana Simonpietri at or 314.909.9197 x1008.

One of the sites for 20:28 Serve Our City will be dedicated to repairing, restoring and providing bikes for all ages. So, we will be collecting bikes over the next month ... new, used or in need of basic repairs. Bikes may be dropped off with Nancy Prott at 136 West Adams in Kirkwood (Martin Electrical Sales, Inc).

The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28

2019 marks the 15th year of one of our favorite highlights - 20:28 Serve Our City (Matthew 20:28) - when we have the opportunity to share the love of Christ with our neighbors, the community of Kirkwood and the greater St. Louis area. Below are just a few of the many opportunities we have had to share Christ’s love with others:

    • Makeover an apartment for a family coming out of an abused situation
    • Planting flowers in front of the Kirkwood Police Station
    • Painting several rooms in a foster home
    • Serving lunch to the homeless

On Saturday, June 15, friends and family gather at 8:00 AM for prayer on the upper parking lot of Greentree, and then disperse throughout the St. Louis area to SERVE our community.

20:28 projects are funded by generous donations. If you would like to contribute financially with a tax deductible donation, click here or checks may be addressed to Greentree Community Church/memo - 20:28.

We will consider when doing the legal thing isn't the same as doing the right thing. There is a huge gap between what is legal and what is ethical, but sometimes it feels as if it is a fine line.

Join us for this three week study of Philemon as Paul pleads the case of a runaway slave who has become a brother in Christ. We will consider when doing the legal thing isn't the same as doing the right thing. There is a huge gap between what is legal and what is ethical, but sometimes it feels as if it is a fine line.

    Battle for the Heart

    Thursday, October 03, 2019, 2:00 PM - Sunday, October 06, 2019, 12:00 PM

    Location Lake Williamson Retreat Center

Contact Chip Demetri, 314.909.9197 x1015 or

The Battle for the Heart is different than most discipleship programs in that it’s not about giving you a formula to change what you’ve been doing (or not doing). It's about discovering who you were created to be, as a man or a woman, in God’s Larger Story.

The Battle for the Heart process starts with an intensive retreat experienced in teams of 4. Through interactive teaching, guided meditation and small group discussion, you’ll take an honest look at your whole heart, in all its beauty and brokenness.

After the retreat, you will have 14 weeks of daily reflections that take you deeper into God’s Larger Story and help you discover the part He is calling you to play in it.  Along the way, you’ll meet weekly with your team to process your experience, supporting each other in specific and strategic ways.

As you enter into the truth of the Gospel within the fellowship of brothers or sisters, something mysterious and grace-filled will happen: You will experience God in a new way.  We can’t tell you exactly what that will look like for you; each person’s experience is as unique as they are.  But we are confident that it can happen for you, because we’ve seen it happen over and over again, in the lives of hundreds of people.

Transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we link arms and do battle together. That’s why the Battle for the Heart is built to be experienced in teams. Together, you will join the fight for a deeply personal understanding of God and His incredible love and grace. Community is not the end result: it’s the pathway to significant, sustainable, fundamental change.

    Every Thursday, 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM

    Location Greentree Community Church

AA is a voluntary, world-wide fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who meet together to attain and maintain sobriety.  The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues or fees.  AA is a program of total abstinence.  Members simply stay away from one drink, one day at a time.  Sobriety is maintained through sharing experience, strength and hope at group meetings and through the suggested Twelve Steps for recovery from alcoholism.
